SUMMARY:Limavady MapRun Score
DESCRIPTION:\n🎉😁ORIENTEERING ACTIVITY IS BACK!🎉😁\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\
n\n\nI’m sure some of you are ready to get back out there and do some ac
tual\, real life orienteering!\n\nWith the relaxation of lock-down restric
tions this is now possible.\n\nThis weekend LVO\, Fermo and NWOC are re-st
arting orienteering with activities across the country\, with the premiere
of MapRunF.\n\nWe are having to temporarily replace physical controls wit
h virtual ones using a new app called MapRunF (which you need to download
onto your phone beforehand). Those of you who have done Sporteering before
will have a good idea how this works\, but MapRunF is simpler to use and
has an even better user experience. After clicking Start – you can just
put your phone in your pocket run off and not worry about it until after y
ou finish – it automatically punches for you!\n\nThe idea is to have the
se MapRun courses\, (sometimes called Virtual Orienteering Courses or VOCs
) available to run at any time for you to train at your convenience.\n\nTh
is weekend\, however\, all the clubs are planning introductory activities
for groups of 9 (10 if you include the organiser – to adhere to the pres
ent Covid restrictions).\n\nThe organiser will be in place to provide brie
f and simple instruction on the MapRunF app and provide a map.\n\nSat 27 J
une 11.30am Start: Limavady Score\n\nFor more information and to book a pl
ace onto any of the above activities\, please contact Ric Gamble at: rgamb
le@britishorienteering.org.uk (or tel: 07717297676)\n\nNote: due to the ne
ed to adhere to current Government and British Orienteering guidelines the
se activities are for club members only and participants will have to agre
e to a code of conduct.\n\nLooking forward to seeing us out running again!
