 d Social. A way to improve your orienteering skills in a social way witho
 ut the pressure of competition. Taking place every 2nd Saturday of the mon
 th (except July\, August and December)\, club coaches put on sessions for 
 orienteers\, no matter your age or level. Everyone is welcome!\n\n\nEntry/
 Registration\nREGISTRATION CLOSED\n\nOn registering you will be required t
 o provide a Name\, Address and Date of Birth for every person – includin
 g children and non-runners. Vehicle driver’s name\, registration number\
 , make\, model and colour will also be required to be provided when regist
 ering.\n\nYou must bring photographic identification for all registered pe
 ople\, other than those under 16 years of age. No online registration or n
 o photographic identification means no getting in and a long drive home.\n
 \n\nRegistration closes\nMidnight\, Sunday 3 November 2024.\n\nPlease note
  earlier registration date than usual. No late registration will be allowe
 d as details need to be provided to the training camp to allow entry.\n\n\
 nStart Times\nArrive 10.15am for registration. Coaching takes place 10.30a
 m to 12pm.\n\nControl gathering 12pm to 12.30pm. Social of shared packed l
 unch takes place afterwards 12.30pm to 2pm.\n\n\nPrice\n💰 Club Meets ar
 e free for members of LVO\, NIOA and Orienteering Ireland as well as O-Pla
 y and TD1/2 Juniors. Non-members are also welcome to attend any of our act
 ivities and events but there is a £3 fee for this activity.\nAfter attend
 ing three orienteering events\, people must join a club so they are insure
 d.  Find out more here.\n\n\nTerrain Summary\nThe terrain consists of for
 ested areas and sand dunes with uneven ground\, thickets\, brambles/nettle
 s\, some fences\, pits and steep sloped areas. There are several fences. T
 he safety bearing is due North. This will take you back to the internal ac
 cess road bounding the area and from there you can locate the car park. Ex
 treme care should be taken in when crossing stiles.\n\nThe area also conta
 ins range debris\, some of which may be unexploded ordnance\, and range in
 frastructure. Under no circumstances touch\, kick or pick up any items ly
 ing on the ground. Do not engage with or play on range infrastructure\, wh
 ich includes open trenches on the ranges and target pits / mechanisms both
  on the ranges and in the competition area. Please ensure children are alw
 ays supervised closely when not running.\n\nThe area has livestock\, so ti
 cks are present\, with the risk of Lyme’s Disease. Please check for tick
 s on completion of your run.\n\nThe sand dunes lead to a beach and the sea
 . The coaching area is bounded by fences to the south\, preventing acciden

 ps will be organised into people with the same level of technical ability\
 , each having a dedicated coach:\nO-Play - for children in P3 and under\, 
 accompanied by their parents.\n⚪🟡 Technical Difficulty (TD) 1 and 2 (
 White and Yellow) Easy courses with all controls mostly on linear features
  such as paths\, walls and streams. Suitable for P4 children and above and
  adult newcomers who want a gentle introduction to orienteering.\n🟠 TD 
 3 (Orange) Courses use basic use of a compass and route choice. Ideal for 
 novice orienteers or young juniors with experience (ideally aged 10 and ab
 ove).\n🟢🔵🟤 TD4 and 5 (Lt Green\, Green\, Blue and Brown) Challeng
 ing navigation with route choice and using more contour and point features
  suitable for experienced juniors and adults.\n\n\nKit requirements\n🧥
 👖 Full body cover is mandatory. If the weather is cold or wet – a wat
 erproof jacket will be mandatory. As well as times of exercise there will 
 be periods of coaching when you will be stationary\, so layer up – bring
  along a hat and gloves to keep comfortable. There is likely to be a bag d
 rop off point with a coach present or close by. NOTE: the club or coach is
  not responsible for the safe keeping of the kit\, it is dropped off at yo
 ur own risk\, so please leave any valuables in the car. All should carry w
 histles. Bring a compass if you use and have one. Some base plate and thum
 b compasses will be available to borrow and try out. Dibbers are not requi
