DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nDate\nSaturday 11 May 2024\n\n\nVenue\n📍 Meelmore Moun
 tain\n\n\nEvent Format\nClub Meet\, Coaching and Social. A way to improve
  your orienteering skills in a social way without the pressure of competit
 ion. Taking place every 2nd Saturday of the month (except July\, August an
 d December)\, club coaches put on sessions for orienteers\, no matter your
  age or level. Everyone is welcome!\n\n\nEntry/Registration\nRegister via 
 the online form here (registration now closed).\n\n\nRegistration closes\n
 Midnight\, Tuesday 7 May 2024\n\n\nStart Time\nArrive 10.15am for registra
 tion. Coaching takes place 10.30am to 12pm. Control gathering 12pm to 12.3
 0pm. Social of shared packed lunch takes place afterwards 12.30pm to 2pm. 
 The Hare’s Gap Bistro will be open all day for tea/coffee\, cakes\, sand
 wiches and hot food – please no muddy shoes or metal dobs inside!\n\n\nP
 rice\n💰 Club Meets are free for members of LVO\, NIOA and Orienteering 
 Ireland as well as O-Play and TD1/2 Juniors. Non-members are also welcome 
 to attend any of our activities and events but there is a £3 fee for this
  activity.\nAfter attending three orienteering events\, people must join a
  club so they are insured.  From 1 May 2024\, membership for newcomers is
  only £6 for juniors (up to 20 years old)\, £12 for young adults (up to 
 25)\, £16 for seniors and £32 for families (2 seniors + 1 or more junior

 oups will be organised into people with the same level of technical abilit
 y\, each having a dedicated coach:\n\nO-Play - for children in P3 and unde
 r\, accompanied by their parents.\n\n⚪🟡 Technical Difficulty (TD) 1 a
 nd 2 (White and Yellow) Easy courses with all controls mostly on linear fe
 atures such as paths\, walls and streams. Suitable for P4 children and abo
 ve and adult newcomers who want a gentle introduction to orienteering.\n\n
 🟠 TD 3 (Orange) Courses use basic use of a compass and route choice. Id
 eal for novice orienteers or young juniors with experience (ideally aged 1
 0 and above).\n\n🟢🔵🟤 TD4 and 5 (Lt Green\, Green\, Blue and Brown
 ) Challenging navigation with route choice and using more contour and poin
 t features suitable for experienced juniors and adults.\n\n\nKit requireme
 nts\n🧥👖 Full body cover is mandatory. If the weather is cold or wet 
 – a waterproof jacket will be mandatory. As well as times of exercise th
 ere will be periods of coaching when you will be stationary\, so layer up 
 – bring along a hat and gloves to keep comfortable. There is likely to b
 e a bag drop off point with a coach present or close by. NOTE: the club or
  coach is not responsible for the safe keeping of the kit\, it is dropped 
 off at your own risk\, so please leave any valuables in the car. All shoul
 d carry whistles. Bring a compass if you use and have one. Some base plate
  and thumb compasses will be available to borrow and try out. Dibbers are 
 not required.\n\n\nParking\n🚗 Please park at Meelmore Lodge in the over
 flow carpark beside the campsite. Pay for parking in the Lodge (£4\, cash
  or card).\n\n\n\nToilets\nToilets are located at the side of Meelmore Lod
 ge.\n\n\n
