 orest\n\n\nEvent Format\nClub Meet\, Coaching and Social. A way to improv
 e your orienteering skills in a social way without the pressure of competi
 tion. Taking place every 2nd Saturday of the month (except July\, August a
 nd December)\, club coaches put on sessions for orienteers\, no matter you
 r age or level. Everyone is welcome!\n\n\nEntry/Registration\nRegister via

 \n\n\nStart Time\nArrive 10.15am for registration.\nCoaching takes place 1
 0.30am to 12pm. Control gathering 12pm to 12.30pm. Social of shared packed
  lunch takes place afterwards 12.30pm to 2pm.\n\n\nPrice\n💰 Club Meets 
 are free for members of LVO\, NIOA and Orienteering Ireland as well as O-P
 lay and TD1/2 Juniors. Non-members are also welcome to attend any of our a
 ctivities and events but there is a £3 fee for this activity.\nAfter atte
 nding three orienteering events\, people must join a club so they are insu
 red.  From 1 May 2024\, membership is only £6 for juniors (up to 20 year
 s old)\, £12 for young adults (up to 25)\, £16 for seniors and £32 for 
 families (2 seniors + 1 or more juniors). Find out more here.\n\n\nTerrain
  Summary\nDrumkeeragh is forest with good runnable areas as well as forest
  slow run/walk. There are a networks of drains as well as intricate wooded
  contour areas. The forest is well used by others and has a network of pat

 ‍👩‍👧‍👦 Groups will be organised into people with the same l
 evel of technical ability\, each having a dedicated coach:\nO-Play - for c
 hildren in P3 and under\, accompanied by their parents.\n⚪🟡 Technical
  Difficulty (TD) 1 and 2 (White and Yellow) Easy courses with all controls
  mostly on linear features such as paths\, walls and streams. Suitable for
  P4 children and above and adult newcomers who want a gentle introduction 
 to orienteering.\n🟠 TD 3 (Orange) Courses use basic use of a compass an
 d route choice. Ideal for novice orienteers or young juniors with experien
 ce (ideally aged 10 and above).\n🟢🔵🟤 TD4 and 5 (Lt Green\, Green\
 , Blue and Brown) Challenging navigation with route choice and using more 
 contour and point features suitable for experienced juniors and adults.\n\
 n\nKit requirements\n🧥👖 Full body cover is mandatory. If the weather
  is cold or wet – a waterproof jacket will be mandatory. As well as time
 s of exercise there will be periods of coaching when you will be stationar
 y\, so layer up – bring along a hat and gloves to keep comfortable. Ther
 e is likely to be a bag drop off point with a coach present or close by. N
 OTE: the club or coach is not responsible for the safe keeping of the kit\
 , it is dropped off at your own risk\, so please leave any valuables in th
 e car. All should carry whistles. Bring a compass if you use and have one.
  Some base plate and thumb compasses will be available to borrow and try o
 ut. Dibbers are not required.\n\n\nParking\nParking will be at the main ca
 r park\, but this is limited\, so please arrange to car share if at all po
 ssible! This is a busy forest with lots of other users including horse rid
 ers. The turning circle is needed to be kept clear for 4x4s pulling horse 
 boxes. If the car park is full\, park responsibly on the road\, making sur
 e not to block gateways\, entrances and allowing space for farm machinery 
 to pass.\n\n\n\nToilets\nThe closest public toilets are located in Ballyna
 hinch and Castlewellan.\n\n\n
