Everyone is welcome!\n\n\nGroups will be organised into people with the sa me level of technical ability\, each having a dedicated coach.\n⚪🟡TD 1&\;2 (White &\; Yellow) Easy courses with all controls mostly on li near features such as paths\, walls and streams. Suitable for primary scho ol children and adult newcomers who want a gentle introduction to orientee ring.\n🟠TD 3 (Orange) Courses use basic use of a compass and route choi ce. Ideal for novice orienteers or young juniors with experience.\n\n\n 🟢🔵🟤TD4&\;5 (Lt Green &\; above) Challenging navigation with route choice and using more contour and point features suitable for exper ienced juniors and adults. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n💬For example\, at the first c lub meet in November 2023\, TD1&\;2 worked on identifying line features and junctions\; TD3 had compass exercises and practiced aiming off in pai rs\; while TD4&\;5 worked on relocation and map simplification. What’s more\, it’s free for LVO club members. All NIO A members are welcome to attend. Non-members are also welcome but after th ree sessions will be expected to join a club.\n\n\n⏰ Meet-up time is 10. 30am for 11am start\, with coaching taking place until 12.30pm. All venues will be confirmed closer to the time.\nFrom 12.30pm-2pm we’re invited t o bring along a packed lunch and socialise afterwards. Facilities to make tea/coffee will be provided.\n\n\n🏃‍♀️Full body cover is mandator y. Juniors should carry a whistle. Bring a compass if you use and have one . Dibbers are not required. If the weather is cold or wet – a waterproof jacket will be mandatory. As well as times of exercise there will be peri ods of coaching when you will be stationary\, so layer up – bring along a hat and gloves to keep comfortable. There is likely to be a bag drop off point with a coach present or close by.
