DESCRIPTION:PRE-ENTRIES CLOSE - 9th November\n\nPARKING will be an issue\, 
 as there is very limited space in the carpark\, and there will be normal p
 ark users as well.  \n\nPlease consider carsharing.  Please think of qui
 ck starting and quick getaway.  There is not even space for the MOO!\n\nC
 airn Wood is a delightful established forest\, and very suitable for those
  competitors wishing to step up from learning courses.  Large and medium 
 paths will help juniors\, and all routes lead back to the central main pat
 h to the car park.\n\nCourses\n\nThere will be four courses to pick from t
 his year rather than the three we previously put on\, so definitely someth
 ing for everyone:\n\n🟡Yellow\, 1.3km  -  a beginner course specifical
 ly suited to children or families to explore together\n\n🟠Orange\, 2.1k
 m  -  an improvers course\, for children with orienteering experience or
  beginner adults who want a bit more adventure off the beaten track.\n\n
 🟢Short Green\, 3.1km  -  a technically challenging course but not too
  long and physical.\n\n🔵Short Blue\, 4.8km  -  a longer and more phys
 ical\, technically difficult course.\n\nScale will be 1:5\,000 and contour
  interval is 5m.\n\nCairn Wood is a mixed forest with established trees\, 
 many deliberate decayed areas\, and now\, several heavily defined paths fo
 r walkers and families.  But there are many smaller other paths and some 
 lovely free running areas\, criss-crossed with ditches and streams.  Ther
 e is a general hillside towards a quarry running along the south west. Muc
 h of wood to the south west has also been cut to leave open areas of high 
 vegetation.\n\nIt is heavily used by dog walkers\, so be careful at the st
 art and finish.\n\nThe start is 2 minutes from the car park along a main p
 ath\, and the finish is 1minute from the carpark along the main path.\n\nY
 ellow and Orange courses will have text and symbol control descriptions av
 ailable.\n\nStart Times  11:00-13:00\n\nParking\n\nParking is very restri
 cted\, and there are usually plenty of dog walkers and families also visit
 ing\, so please please carshare if possible\, and also consider quick star
 ting and quick getaway.  There is no space for parking on the road or any
 where nearby.\n\nThus\, any starters wanting a possibly earlier start are 
 welcome\, to help spread the carparking load.\n\nToilets and facilities\n\
 nThere is a toilet in the carpark.\n\nThere is a cracking wee coffee and b
 un van in the carpark\n\nRegistration/Start/Finish\n\nInside the main gate
  at the start of all paths at end of the carpark\n\nSafety\n\nWhistles and
  full leg cover is recommended  as the undergrowth is still full. Also br
 ing along a waterproof top may also be mandatory if forecast is unkind.\n
 \nAll competitors MUST visit the download station even if you do not finis
 h your course. Otherwise\, unnecessary time will be spent looking for you.
