There will be 4 courses to choose from\, suitable f or the very youngest and those new to the sport as well as the experienced orienteer.\n\nFor the observant amongst you\, you will notice that the no rmal Short Green has been replaced by Light Green. Gosford is only Light G reen standard! So Short Green = Light Green. It would be a misnomer to cal l it any different. For improving juniors and newcomers it is important to label courses correctly so that they can understand the fare on offer at each event they go to\, but don't for one second think you'll get an easy run just because I have re-labelled the Course. It will be the same challe nge as ever. For the AT Trophy the scores from Cairn Wood ( which was also only LG ) and Gosford will be combined as usual to crown the victor.\n\nT here are many paths in Gosford from large to small including several windy mountain bike trails which will help with navigation\, but these won't ge nerally provide the best route choice unless you're on the Yellow Course. Gosford has several areas of lovely runnable forest which I will be tempti ng you to enjoy.\n\nThis is a busy forest\, enjoyed by many at weekends\, including families\, dog walkers\, cyclists and horse riders. Please be mi ndful and give way to other users. Mountain bike trails should only be use d for navigational purposes rather than a route choice.\n\nA previous map can be viewed here.\n\n Registration will open from 1:45 pm.\n Start wil l be open from 2 - 3:30 pm\, booked in 15 min slots via SiEntries. The sta rt will be - TBC\n Courses close at 5:00 PM.\n\nEntries can be pre-booked online (see below) or on the day\, however pre-entry is preferred to guar antee you a map from the limited supply.\n\n \;\nCourses\n🔵 Short B lue  -  a longer and more physical\, technically difficult course\n5.2 k m\,  ?? m climb\,  18 controls\n\n🟢 LIGHT GREEN  -  ideal for impro vers - navigationally as difficult as Gosford can be.\n3.5 km\,  ?? m cli mb\,  11 controls\n\n🟠 Orange  -  an improver's course\, for those w ith experience\, or adult beginners who want a bit more adventure\n3.3 km\ ,  ?? m climb\,  10 controls\n\n🟡 Yellow  -  a beginner course spec ifically suited to children or families to explore together\n2.0 km\,  ?? m climb\,  14 controls\n\nMap scale 1:7500 or 1:5000 with a 5m contour i nterval .\n\nParking\nWe will be using the overflow car-park. Pass the mai n car park and follow the signs towards the lower deer park. At the first junction turn right\, immediately after the buildings on your left turn ri ght into the overflow parking field. It is very close to registration/down load which is in a nearby building.\n\nPlease note there will be a charge for parking unless you have a valid Gosford Park Permit. Fees are as per t he Gosford Forest website (cars are £5). Please consider car-sharing.\n\n \nRegistration &\; Facilities\nWe are planning to operate registration and download from a room in the long rectangular building close to the ove rflow car park. We also hope to have a tea/coffee and bun stall set up - p lease bring along a keep cup and some cash - donations will go towards the NI Junior programme.\n\nThere is a public toilet near the main car park a s well as a coffee\, ice cream and a hot food van.\n\nIf you wish to make a day of it\, there are excellent marked mountain bike trails and lots of playparks for families with younger children.\n\n \;\nEntry\nFees per map\n\n Senior entry ( aged 21 &\; over)  -  £8 member\,  £10 non -member\n Junior/Student  -  £4 member\,  £5 non-member\n Family ch arge - 4 separate competitive entries of 2 adults &\; 2 juniors -  £2 0 members\,  £25 non-members\,  at a maximum\n Sociable group / family fee where all are going round a course together - entry fee is per requir ed number of maps - one entry = one map.\n\nThere is no fee to hire or cha nge an SI card if required\, however lost cards at charged at £30.\n\n      \n\nSafety\nPlease respect any impassable walls and fences\, warnin g signs and hatched purple areas.\n\nAs mentioned previously\, look out fo r and give way to other forest users\, especially mountain bikers.\n\nPlea se be careful around water features\, there is some deep water\, lakes/poo ls and steep banks near rivers/streams. \n\nAlso take care in the car-par k and forest roads where it is always busy\, although courses have been pl anned to avoid any issues.\n\nFull leg cover is compulsory and good trail shoes are recommended.\n\nIf weather is poor whistles and waterproof jacke ts may be compulsory.\n\nVolunteers\nThanks to Planner Graeme Francis\, Co ntroller Michael Burton and Organiser Ric Gamble.
