Instructions

We are meeting at the Antrim Forum Leisure Centre car park where you will see the Mobile Orienteering Office (the converted chip van affectionately known as the MOO).

Come along and enjoy Sarah's navigational challenges in the beautiful Antrim Castle Gardens.

Two courses as usual, with additional coaching if you wish, and an additional training course to practice on:

Orange/Light Green 4.2km, 21 controls.

SHORT 1.9km, 16 controls.

This week's coaching groups are going to be looking at compass and pacing, and map interpretation and you are all more than welcome to try both. For those with a little energy left it is hoped to put on a shortish window and corridor course to help practice your skills.

Tall vegetation in places (including nettles) so full leg cover advisable on the longer course. Registration in FORUM car park from 6.15pm. Starts from 6.45 until 7.45. Courses close 8.30pm.

NEW TO THE SPORT?:

Please ask at registration and someone will gladly give you all the guidance needed to get started.

SAFETY:

1/ Courses cross the park access road, look out for traffic.

2/ Do not cross the main road you turned off into Lough Road, it is Out of Bounds - the underpass is to be used to cross the road.

3/ Do NOT attempt to walk in (or on!) the 'blue bits' on the map - the Six Mile River and the ponds are deep and cold! Use any of the bridges to cross the river.

Directions

Turn off A26 into Lough Road then first right into Forum car park.

Social

Cinnamon café in the Antrim Forum will be open until 9pm for drinks and snacks. Why not join us after your run for a cuppa and chat about how well (or not) it all went. Hot food is only served until 7pm.

Also big club social organised for the weekend 23-25 June at Tollymore. All welcome to join us even if not yet a member of LVO or a member of another club. Check out info on fixtures in the LVO site.

Results

The WEE Series will now be promoted as fun training activities rather than competitive events, and as such, no results will be published online.
