About LVO

WelcomeWelcome to Lagan Valley Orienteers. The club’s origins go back to the beginning of the 70s and the early days of Orienteering in the Province. Now our membership stretches from Newcastle to Ballyclare. You are welcome to join us at any of our events. Each event has courses suitable for abilities from junior beginner to senior elite. Our events are generally on Saturdays but during the summer and early winter we hold events on Wednesday evenings.

  • OCO present : Christmas in Armagh, Sun 16th December - Sadly, next Sunday sees the last Orchard County event of 2018. However, that can only mean one thing - it's Christmas! So why not come and join us for a jaunt around the City of Armagh, followed by some festive fayre: Mince pies, mulled wine, satsumas, apple crumble ( just jesting... or am I??), and a Pac-man challenge. As usual, there will be something for everyone, beginners and experienced alike as we provide our last taster for the upcoming OCO Urban league. There will be 3 courses on offer as per Portadown. The courses will follow a middle distance urban format. Read More ...
  • The Final WENT of 2018 - The final WENT of 2018 will be held at Lady Dixon Park next Wednesday, 12th December. As in past years we will follow the session with some festive cheer in the form of hot chocolate, warm little eats and other appropriate (un)healthy offerings. We meet as usual at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm mass start in the top car park. Lady Dixon Park is always fun to run in after dark, so don't miss out! In order to get the right number of maps and enough food, please let Philip know that you are coming, either by commenting here, directly via Read More ...
  • Travel Funding Claims - Just a reminder that anyone who hasn’t submitted claims yet for 2018 travel funding needs to do so straight away as this year’s sums are about to be done! You can check if you’re eligible for support from the club for travelling to representative events by looking at the Senior and Junior funding policies on the LVO website under Resources / Travel Funding. Email treasurer@lvo.org.uk if you’ve any questions.
  • Portadown & the People’s Park - I hope you all enjoyed your runs on Sunday. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who turned up, especially all my Southern visitors. You very nearly outnumbered those from the north. It’s just a shame the weather wasn’t nicer, but hopefully it didn’t detract too much from the enjoyment of your run. I’ve already noted that A3 may be the order of the day next time around. Not because we need to extend the map but just to keep some of you on it. I know everyone likes to analyse their runs these days so in keeping Read More ...
