International Selection for LVO Juniors

Congratulations! Three LVO juniors have been selected to represent the Irish Orienteering Association at the European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC) in Belarus this summer. M16 Daniel Earnshaw, W16 Meadow McCauley, M18 Andrew Elwood. Thanks are due to the organisers, planners, coaches, fund-raisers…bun-bakers and cake-stall organisers…, funders (LVO, NIOA, local councils), selectors, mappers, map printers, committee and parents who provided the opportunities for the athletes to reach this level. Junior Inter Regional Orienteering Championship 2018

Wanted: Old Timers and New Timers

With the August WEE Series fast approaching, we need a team of folks to run the goings on in the Mobile Orienteering Office for registration and results. We need both “old-timers” who know how the system works and “new-timers” to sit beside an old-timer and assist. If you have enjoyed the WEE Series so far, this is your way to contribute to the club. Beat the Street goes East again

This Sunday 8 October our Beat the Street Sunday Afternoon Session returns to East Belfast. Bring your map and card or fob if you have them. If not we’ll have a supply and give simple instruction how to play. All ages welcome, especially families. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. JIRCs Report September 2017

I first ran in the JIRCs in Sandringham in 2012, where I got very lost in the unfamiliar terrain and head high ferns that had grown up overnight. JROS Coaching Course

Keith Marsden of JROS (Joint Regional Orienteering Squads) has announced that JROS will be hosting a Coaching Course at Lagganlia Outdoor Education Centre, Aviemore, from 17th to 21st July. Attendees have to be aged 17 at the time of the course – but there is no upper age limit. JROS will be subsidising the cost of the course.
