OCO present : Christmas in Armagh, Sun 16th December

Sadly, next Sunday sees the last Orchard County event of 2018. However, that can only mean one thing – it’s Christmas! So why not come and join us for a jaunt around the City of Armagh, followed by some festive fayre: Mince pies, mulled wine, satsumas, apple crumble ( just jesting… or am I??), and a Pac-man challenge. As usual, there will be something for everyone, beginners and experienced alike as we provide our last taster for the upcoming OCO Urban league. There will be 3 courses on offer as per Portadown. The courses will follow a middle distance urban format. Read More …

Portadown & the People’s Park

I hope you all enjoyed your runs on Sunday. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who turned up, especially all my Southern visitors. You very nearly outnumbered those from the north. It’s just a shame the weather wasn’t nicer, but hopefully it didn’t detract too much from the enjoyment of your run. I’ve already noted that A3 may be the order of the day next time around. Not because we need to extend the map but just to keep some of you on it. I know everyone likes to analyse their runs these days so in keeping Read More …

Portadown & The People’s Park – Sunday 2nd Dec

Missing your fix of O? Well don’t worry, we haven’t finished for the year yet. For those of you who like urban events you can even treat this as a Read More …

Orienteering in Narnia

Looking for something to do on Sunday? Worried that the season might be coming to an end? Never fear, we still have plenty on offer. Why not come and join us on Sunday afternoon in Kilbroney Forest Park. If you came to the Autumn Trophy event you’ll know how good the park is. If you didn’t attend before now is your chance. As well as the orienteering, there is also a coaching session beforehand on route choice for any juniors or novices looking to improve. All I would ask is that if you wish to attend either or both, please Read More …

So, to all of you looking to make the journey – Welcome to the County of Apples. If you believe all you read many of you might be expecting to see loads of cones and a maze. You may even be secretly looking forward to it. So who am I to disappoint? But that’s not what we’re about. You can expect much more than that out here, as Read More …

Lisburn Urban Race – CANCELLED

I’ve been thinking long and hard about this and its not a decision that fills me with glee, but as it stands with only 6 days to go to the event I have only had one offer of help. As we’ve said before, our sport is run for us, by us, and as a result if no-one volunteers then there can be no event. Most of the tasks are relatively simple and guidance will always be at hand if you’ve never volunteered before. You will always get a run if you want one, and if you’re going to go to Read More …

Sunday’s Physical Training Session Drumgor, Craigavon

Orienteering Interval Sessions – or very, very, very short course orienteering round the Drumgor Estate. Better keep your wits about you as well as this will be more than physical exercise. Start time 11.30 One hours exercise followed by drinks and calories ( you have to replace the energy right? ) We’ll meet at the car park in the middle of the estate on Drumgor Heights ( by the shops and Primary School ). See you on Sunday for a little bit of fun.
