Terrain Notes

The terrain is open hillside with many rock features, few paths and some marshy ground, but fast runnability. Take care crossing fences as some have barbed wire. There is one dangerous cliff to be avoided near the finish. It will be marked with yellow/black tape.

The safety bearing is W to the Dree Hill Road which leads to the car park.

As the area is very exposed be prepared for poor weather by dressing appropriately. It may be necessary to enforce a mandatory cagoule ruling.

This is a sheep farming area so dogs are NOT allowed on the hillside but can be on a lead in the car park or on the roads.

Due to a late request from the landowner, there will be stiles / gates which MUST be used as crossing points over some fences. These will be shown on maps at registration and in the start lane but may not be marked on competitor maps which have already been printed. (good map-memory practise!) These crossing points will be well-marked with red/white tape. This does not apply to the Yellow course.
