Event Description
Three courses, green, orange and yellow.
Course details as follows.
Green – 4.9km, 150m climb with 17 controls
Orange – 3.4km, 80m climb with 12 controls
Yellow – 1.8km, 60m climb with 9 controls
This is a country park with numerous surfaced paths and open areas and for the longer courses some deciduous woodland to the west. This has fairly steep slopes and although there is quite a lot of undergrowth here there are numerous small paths.
There are toilets and a cafe close to the parking and an interesting maze. ( not on the courses) With great views out to sea and impressive play areas Carnfunnock is a great place for a family day out.
Starts 12.00 – 2.00pm
Entry fees are £6 for Seniors and £3 for Juniors, Students and unwaged.
Parking in main upper car park. There is a charge for parking but let them know that you are there for the orienteering and this will be reduced.

Any details on entry fees, and parking charges?
As regards parking, there is a charge but a reduced one for orienteers. The car parking is right beside the start and finish. Let the man on the gate know that you are orienteering and collect a token from him. Before you leave, take this to the shop, on site, to pay. I think £3/car instead of £4.50.

There is free parking available near the entrance to the country park, just beside the main road but this is likely to be busy. A walk of some 800m will bring you to registration in the car park we are using – exclusively for orienteers.
